Memphis United says
Memphis United in partnership with BRIDGES, USA and LeMoyne Owen College, presents, a one day conference on our juvenile justice system, for youth with youth co-facilitation and and input into the planning and designing of this event.

This FREE event is for youth ages 13-18 to share their knowledge and opinions around the serious issues of juvenile justice reform, youth crime, the negative depictions of our youth in media and to lay the ground work for a youth led movement for real solutions to these and other issues.

Workshop topics include
*KNOW YOUR RIGHTS TRAINING
*PEER MEDIATION-Nonviolent Conflict Resolution
*INTRO TO COMMUNITY ORGANIZING
If you are interested in presenting a workshop as well along these topics or other, please contact Gio López at Gio@midsouthpeace.org or Brad Watkins at Brad@midsouthpeace.org

In addition
Young people who have COURT ORDERED COMMUNITY SERVICE via Shelby County Juvenile Court hours may complete those hours by attending the conference.

Attendance is FREE but we do ask that you please register via the link below just so we can have an accurate count of attendees. A delicious brunch will be served at the LeMoyne Owen cafeteria for $4.75 for all of us to share a meal and an open mic session will be held at that time.
