Time Out says

3 out of 5 stars

Above Hostal Regina, there’s an area perfectly adapted to support the slogan "Love for electronic music". It’s about as convenient as it gets, having a restaurant (Los Canallas), dorms, and a terrace all in one spot.

You’ll have to go through the hostel, go down some stair and back up some stairs to get in. But, make sure that there’s not a special event going on. Otherwise, you’ll have to head back to the front desk and register and there may be a cover charge; check their social media channels to make sure.

It’s an old building and there’s no elevator. But, the climb is totally worth it. The terrace has wood floors and is lined with bar stools on the perimeter. The décor is very “actual jungle meets urban jungle” with tropical plants and concrete coexisting. The place is small, covered, and although it’s open air, there are glass walls to keep the strong winds out.

They’ve got one of the best-equipped DJ booths in the city with Funktion One sound equipment that’s surely to suit any DJ in the city. So, all you need to do is show up and be ready to drink and have some fun. The go-to is the one-liter mojitos (100 MXN), they’re heavy-handed pours but, a bit sweet for my flavor so, I’d recommend that you ask them to take it easy on the sugar and take note: they are cash only.

It’s one of the best spots in Mexico City for underground electronic music. The music here is usually local with some international DJs mixed in.

So, come for the music and stay for one of the best parties in the area.
