Pawn Broker (CLOSED)
Time Out says
Everything you need to know about visiting Pawn Broker (121 SE 1st St, Miami, FL 33131).
The hip rooftop bar at the Langford Hotel is manned by the Pubbelly Boys, who’ve poured their restaurant know-how and ingredient savvy into the retro-themed menu. Both the names of and the ingredients you’ll find in the cocktails harken back to Prohibition, but they’ve kept the rest current with comfy lounge setups and DJs spinning the latest tunes.
What to expect
The Pawn Broker is not in a chic part of downtown Miami, but it does have history on its side. The Langford Hotel is the area’s first historic hotel, and its architecture has been renovated to invoke the building’s gorgeous 1920s style. The Pawn Broker sits atop the Langford and draws a crowd of young professionals. Happy hour is very popular, but the weekend night crowd is thick too.
Miami’s most Instagrammable cocktail
At our 2017 Time Out Miami Bar Awards, we gave Pawn Broker the award for the Most Instagrammable Cocktail in Miami. The winner was the Giggle Water, a favorite on the menu that has made its way to hundreds of Instagram feeds around Miami. The drink is a delicious homage to bootleggers who used to make booze in their bathtubs. It's served in a miniature tub with lavender-scented foam that gives way to a floral gin-based concoction mixed with champagne syrup and tonic water. It's as pretty as it is strong, and probably more soothing than any bathtime experience you'll ever have.
Happy Hour at the Pawn Broker
Pawn Broker is known as one of the best happy hour spots in Miami. You can watch the sun melt into the horizon from your gorgeous rooftop vantage point. Plus, the $7 cocktails and $6 beer and wine doesn't hurt. It’s also a great spot to meet eligible Miami singles.
