Southern staple Bonnaroo tends to lean a little older than some of America’s invented-last-year festivals—its headliners for 2014 include Elton John and Lionel Richie!—but remains one of the most diverse festivals in the States.  Highlights for 2014 include hip-hop upstart Chance the Rapper, Gorillaz mastermind Damon Albarn, Alabama rock ‘n’ roller Phosphorescent and EDM star Skrillex, and previous year’s picks run from Weird Al Yankovich to Bjork. Its lineups also tend to be friendlier to jam bands (which you’d be unlikely to find at, say, Coachella or Lollapalooza).
