Not the hippest hotel on the block, but it offers tremendous value. The 1936 art deco building and the Collins location score points. And the designers have gamely tried to keep up with the in crowd, even if it’s not Architectural Digest. The spacious gray bedrooms boast polished wood floors, pristine white bedlinens and bowl-style washbasins, plus granite counters and chrome fridges. They come with kitchens, sofas, flatscreen TVs and huge closets. In the basement, there’s a gym, computer room with free internet, and a small theater room complete with velvet curtain. There’s no swimming pool, but the beach is just one block east.
