A timeline of Drake’s very weird week in Miami

When rappers come to Miami, they usually leave in their wake a trail of empty Cîroc bottles and sticky VIP sections. But Drake, rap’s foremost authority in sensitivity, does not always adhere to hip-hop norms, as very clearly evidenced by the insanely random (but pretty awesome) week he has been having in Miami. Let’s examine what he’s been up to so far.

Monday

Drake shows up at Miami Senior High School to shoot his video for “God’s Plan” and, before leaving, drops a $25,000 donation and promises to return to help the school design its new uniforms. Lord help the algebra teacher who has to follow that.

Afterwards, he heads to the University of Miami to shoot some more footage for the video and also hands out a $50,000 scholarship to one lucky predentistry student because, as we all know, Drake appreciates a good smile. He also gives $10,000 to the Frost School of Music. According to the Miami Hurricane, one desperate fan hid in a Starbucks kitchen for nearly half an hour to snap a picture with Drake.

And then, just when you think he's finished, Drake stops by for a quick dinner with the Miami Beach Senior High basketball squad, handing out new sneakers and gear before he gets some much needed rest.

Tuesday

Drake isn’t done handing out $50,000 checks. This time, he gifts one to the local women’s shelter Lotus House. Good for you, Drake! You go, Drake!

Next, he heads to Sabor Tropical Supermarket in Normandy Isles and buys the entire store free groceries. Again: random, but good! You go, Drake!

Wednesday

On hump day, Drake apparently rested or—possibly—was restrained by a team of panicked accountants.

Thursday

No word on the whereabouts of Drizzy Claus yet. If you see him around town tossing $100 bills at iguanas, please snap a pic and tag us on Instagram @timeoutmiami.
