These Miami attractions are offering deals for furloughed government workers

At the time of this writing, we are in the 24th day of the government shutdown, the longest shutdown in this country’s history. This means that certain federal workers are now starting to miss their paychecks, which we can (hopefully) all agree is not good news.

In a show of solidarity with federal workers currently out of a job, a few Miami attractions are offering deals to those affected by the shutdown.

Vizcaya Museum & Gardens is offering free admission for two to anyone with a valid government employee ID. The same deal applies over at the Pérez Art Museum: anyone with a valid government employee ID can receive free admission for two. PAMM is also encouraging any interested furloughed federal employees to apply for part-time roles at PAMM by emailing their resumes to resumes@pamm.org.

Just next door, Frost Science is also offering free general admission with one guest to federal employees. Over in Doral, Kings Dining & Entertainment is offering two free bowling games Monday through Thursday until 6pm to those with government IDs. And all South Florida Rocco’s Tacos locations are giving a $20 credit to any furloughed government employees with proper ID.

Obviously, this won’t make up for a paycheck but it’s nice to see Miami businesses stepping up to offer support. And this is perhaps the only instance where we genuinely hope these deals end quickly.
