For a city full of permanently suspicious curmudgeons, New York citizens are surprisingly trusting with their street meat. Sometimes, obviously, that decision does not pay off. However that is not the case with the legendary NYC street vendors known as the Halal Guys.

The Halal Guys first opened a food cart in 1990 on 53rd and Sixth Avenue. Word spread quickly about the delicious, quick food and there’s pretty much been a line ever since. Now the Halal Guys brand has spread beyond the simple cart and evolved to bricks-and-mortar locations. The very first Miami one will open its doors on June 23 at 5966 S Dixie Highway.

For the uninitiated, the Halal Guys serves up fast-casual Middle Eastern food like chicken and rice platters, gyros and more. It’s highly addictive, on-the-go fare perfect for a quick lunch or dinner.

On June 23, the first 100 people in line at the Miami grand opening will receive a free Halal Guys tumbler cup which you can use for free drinks for life at the Miami location. Doors open at 11am, so arrive early if you want to nab a cup.
