Wynwood’s newest concept is part chicken shop, part cocktail bar

Update: The grand opening has been pushed back, and will now take place sometime during the week of March 12.

God bless the Chicken, as versatile a protein as there is. Fry it up and slap it on a waffle. Put it in some soup. Bake it in a pie. Throw it at your sibling during a heated exchange. Chicken is bound only by our imaginations.

And the brand new Le Chick (pronounced Le Chic, because we’re not savages) is offering up something we haven’t seen around these parts before. The new Wynwood concept specializes in rotisserie chicken and craft cocktails.

Located at 310 NW 24th Street, Le Chick will be a welcome addition now that the area just lost one of its best fried chicken joints, Federal Donuts. In addition to its MVP rotisserie bird, Chick will also serve pork ribs, burgers and appetizers such as fried chicken, onion rings and fries served five different ways.

The bar’s cocktail program, led by José ‘YeYe’ Ortega, will feature pun-happy drinks including the Fowl Play (bourbon, mint syrup, cinnamon, ginger and coffee bitters) and the Mother Clucker (vodka, chartreuse yellow, Italicus liqueur, lime juice, strawberry, rosemary and ginger beer). Expect weekly live music in the 4,700-square-foot space as well. Le Chick will be open Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday from 5pm to midnight; and Thursday through Saturday from 5pm to 3am.
