For 10 years now, chef Adrianne Calvo has been giving Miamians a reason to drive to the 'burbs. Her namesake restaurant, which she opened in 2007 inside a Kendall strip mall, remains one of the city's most popular spots for stick-to-your-ribs, homestyle cooking. The food is loosely inspired by Calvo's travels through Napa Valley and encompasses a range of cuisines—hearty Italian pastas, Asian-style starters and traditional steakhouse entrées of which the filet mignon is consistently a favorite. Regulars know to stop in for the chef's daily specials, such as Tuesday's French onion soup.
