Time Out says

Right on the border of Broward and Miami, Gulfstream Park has grown into one hell of an entertainment complex over the last few years. There is, of course, the horse racing track—which draws crowds seven days a week, rain or shine. There's also a casino, a ton of restaurants and no shortage of bars. It's easy to get lost in Gulfstream for an entire day.

What’s on

Taste at the Track at Gulfstream Park

Eat your way through a day at the races: Gulfstream Park’s Taste at the Track food event series returns this weekend. On January 31, pair mouthwatering tacos with all kinds of agave-based cocktails at Tacos & Tequila. The all-you-can-eat-and-drink festivities take place in the third-floor Flamingo Room, where you'll sample top-shelf brands while watching and wagering on thoroughbreds in the G3 Holy Bull Stakes. An $80 ticket includes unlimited tequila, mezcal and cocktail samplings plus Latin-inspired bites from 1 to 4pm.

Cirque du Soleil: Luzia

The great Montreal contemporary-circus troupe brings its Luzia production to South Florida, performing cutting-edge acrobatics and tightly choreographed dance numbers amid lavish costumes and set pieces. This show, written and directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca, is inspired by the culture of Mexico. Running February 19 through April 25 at Gulfstream Park, Luzia takes audiences through a series of surrealistic scenes, from an old movie set to a smoky dance hall, an arid desert, and even a cenote. It's a dream-like, sensory exploration of Mexico's past and present, packed with awe-inspiring moments—including rain incorporated into acrobatic and artistic scenes (a first for a Cirque du Soleil touring production).
