Time Out says

Nearly 2,000 revelers are expected to gather at this annual festival where the sky over Miami's Haulover Park becomes blanketed with hundreds of colorful kites flapping in the ocean breeze. Dozens of giant show kites add to the spectacle, including a 500-foot whale, 100-foot flying squid and cuttlefish, 30-foot flying scuba man and more. Guests are encouraged to build their own kites in traditional styles (last year, everywhere from the Bahamas and China to Colombia and Puerto Rico showed out). Refreshments and kites will also be available for purchase on-site and picnic blankets are recommended for taking in the views and live music.
