Once a 1926 silent movie palace, this is now an enchanting venue for the occasional jazz or Latin gig, indie concerts, comedy shows and cabaret revues complete with velvet seats, Shakespearean balconies and twinkling stars on the ceiling’s painted night tableau.

History on Wheels

History on Wheels is what happens when you combine immersive theater, an outdoor workout and a cast of whimsical characters all delighting in Miami’s fascinating history. The second-annual bicycle tour takes place the first weekend in October and it’s absolutely free. Presented by Olympia Arts MIAMI and written and created by the Front Yard Theater Collective, the event invites people of all ages to learn about the Magic City via historical—and hysterical—characters who lead the downtown expedition decked in full regalia. You’ll need to BYO wheels to participate–bikes, rollerblades, roller skates, skateboards—and keep in mind that motorized options (including electric scooters) are not permitted. Sep 30–Oct 2. Fri, Sat at 5pm; Sun at 2pm; free. RSVP required.
