Catapulted into the spotlight by some canny guest appearances – including Disclosure's 'Latch' and Naughty Boy's 'La La La' – young singer-songwriter Smith boasts a wonderfully smooth and delicate voice. Despite making his name with two dance-pop hits, his debut album 'In the Lonely Hour' is full of melancholy balladry, but that hasn't done the Brit any harm: Sad Sam has become a massive star on both sides of the Atlantic, and currently sells out pretty much any gig he deigns to announce.
