Surfside's Third Thursday Block Party

The adorable beachside Town of Surfside kicks off a series of monthly community events it's calling Third Thursdays. Taking place, well, every third Thursday this winter, the street festival will have live music from a Caribbean steel drum band, food from local vendors (Josh's Deli, Morelia Paletas and more) and plenty of family-friendly activities to keep everyone entertained—from a screen-printing workshop for DIY tee-shirts to a community book swap. An ingenious astroturf parklet takes over one of the blocked streets, offering bean bags and lounge chairs for all.
