Join ASI for a conversation and reading with Norwegian crime fiction author Vidar Sundstøl of the Minnesota Trilogy (The Land of Dreams, Only the Dead, and The Ravens). Sundstøl will participate in a Q&A discussion on the craft of writing and translating, choosing Northern Minnesota as a setting for the series, and writing from and towards a specific place. Sundstøl will also read some short excerpts from the newest and final book in the trilogy, The Ravens. A book signing and refreshments will follow the presentation.
In the final installment of his award-winning Minnesota Trilogy, The Raven, Sundstøl’s affinity for the northern world of Lake Superior is on full display—as Lance’s search takes him from the wilds of the Boundary Waters to outposts steeped in voyageur history and Ojibwe culture, from the streets of the Twin Cities to the gritty port of Duluth, to the sleepy tourist towns that dot the North Shore—and as the mysteries of love and nature, history and culture, and family and ancestry merge in a powerful conclusion.
