Looking for ways to fund your artistic practice? Come learn how to find and apply for local and national grants from Debra deNoyelles, Development Director of Artistry and Keren Kroul, a Minneapolis-based artist who received a 2015 Artist Initiative Grant from the MN State Arts Board. Whether you are new to grant-writing or are looking to refine your skills, this is the workshop for you! We will focus on three local grant programs for emerging artists, including McKnight Next Step, MN State Arts Board, and Jerome Foundation programs, and answer questions you have about grant applications.

Guest Presenters:

Debra deNoyelles has more than 15 years of experience in fund development for local arts organizations, having been the Development Director of Young Audiences of Minnesota, East Side Arts Council, The Soap Factory and now Artistry. She has served on grant panels for the McKnight Foundation, Metropolitan Regional Arts Council and the Minnesota State Arts Board. Debra is passionate about supporting emerging artists and arts organizations in the Twin Cities.

Keren Kroul works with watercolor on paper, creating dense organic formations from small meticulous lines, colorful patterns, and delicate washes. She holds an MFA in painting from Parsons School of Design (NY) and a BA in studio art from Brandeis University (MA). Her work has been exhibited at the Minnesota Museum of American Art (MN), the Art Museum of the University of Memphis (TN), the Revolving Museum (MA), the Soo Visual Arts Center (MN), and the Phipps Center for the Arts (WI), and was featured in the 2014 Minnesota Biennial at the Minnesota Museum of American Art. Kroul is a 2015 recipient of the Artist Initiative Grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board.
