Ae Presents: Paintings At North Gate Brewing says
Altered Esthetics and NorthGate Brewing partner in Northeast Minneapolis to exhibit Ae Presents: Paintings, a medium-focused, two-month group show open September 2 - November 1, 2015.

Meet the artists, buy art, and drink local on Saturday, October 24, 1pm - 3:30pm, as Ae will be hosting a closing reception at the brewery.

Three Minnesota-based artists are exhibiting:

Emily Krueger (Bemidji) (Ae Featured Artist):

Emily Krueger graduated from Bemidji State University with a Bachelor's degree in Visual Art, concentrating in painting. She has been active in the art community of Bemidji, participating in the Bemidji Sculpture Walk, illustrating posters for the local Pecha Kucha Nights, and showing work at various venues around town. Her work can be found at shops and galleries around the Midwest.

Her illustration work can be described as detailed, delicate, realistic, partly graphic, and often nature themed. She delights in the animal form and expression. Emily focuses her creative efforts on both illustration and painting.

Annie Hejny (St. Paul):

Participating as a mentor and artist in the Twin Cities community, Annie has volunteered with Free Arts Minnesota, blankslate theater, VISION and founded the PAINT Project, a collaboration between local establishments to implement mural painting events in 10 countries during 2010-2013. Since 2014, Annie is a member of the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association (NEMAA) and the Women's Art Resources of Minnesota (WARM).

As an emerging visual artist, she intentionally explores the spaces from her daily life and larger travels to create highly-saturated paintings. Recent exhibitions include Art-A-Whirl (Minneapolis, MN), 6x6x2015 (Rochester, NY) and One Wall (Chicago, IL).

She currently resides in St. Paul and works at the Casket Arts Building in Northeast Minneapolis. This summer she participated in the Women's Art Institute at St. Catherine University. Most recently, she converted her single-stall garage into Gallery Three, a pop-up exhibition space for local artists.

Sophia Heymans (Minneapolis):

"I am a 25 year old artist, raised in Saint Joseph, Minnesota. I received my BFA from Rhode Island School of Design in 2012. I currently live in Minneapolis. My paintings are inspired by the environment surrounding my home town. "
