The Loft Literary Center Proudly presents As Curated By with Rubén Medina. Medina will discuss three interrelated topics: migrant subjects, multiculturalism, and the expansion of poetry in the U.S.

Rubén Medina is a poet, scholar translator, editor, and one of the founders of Infrarealism. In poetry he has published various books: Báilame Este Viento, Mariana (1980), Amor de Lejos…Fools’ Love (Arte Publico 1986), and various editions of Nomadic Nation / Nación Nómada, including a new edition by Cowfeather Press; and poems in numerous anthologies in the US, Mexico, Latin America, and Spain. He received the NEA in poetry (1981). He has also published various scholarly books and translations. He is a Professor of Latin American literature at the UW-Madison.

Nomadic Nation is a book of poems that explores the making and unmaking of (trans)national communities along the motifs of migration, fragmented lives, multilinguism, border crossing, alien and familiar places, playfulness, otherness, new structures of feelings, and everyday life.
