Audition: Live Action Set's The Sparrow says
Who we seek:
We invite you to audition for our next creation: The Sparrow, premiering at The Southern May, 2016, and directed by Noah Bremer and Joanna Harmon with assitance from Eve Schulte. We seek an ensemble of performers of diverse artistic backgrounds and talents, with a ferocity for poetic creativity, rigor in achieving physical and emotional specificity, and a boldness to create collaboratively. Dancers, clowns, improvisers, multi-disciplinary artists, actors, magicians, circus generalists, burlesque performers and musicians are encouraged to attend. The project will involve various degrees of audience involvement.

To audition:
The auditions will be held Friday, February 12th and Saturday, February 13. To choose a time slot and read more important details including location, and rehearsal and performance schedule, fill out this form:

Behind the name:
Sea-weary sailors regard the arrival of a sparrow as the harbinger of a journey's end. With it, momentum recycles, and a new journey begins. The Sparrow is a portrait of explosive expression and celebrates a world of infinite possibilities. Aesthetically, it harnesses styles of clown, dance, and song through a series of self-contained, yet uncannily connected vignettes.

Ways of working:
What can happen when the ecstasy of change is within grasp? We invite you to explore this proposition and others with us in a creation-process of collaboration and devising through improvisation and exercises.

For the audition:
Wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to move and play. You may be asked to improvise, devise in small groups, dance, and sing.

Small stipend.
