Basil King: Mirage is a 22-minute film by Nicole Peyrafitte and Miles Joris-Peyrafitte about the painter-poet Basil King.

Born in England, Basil King attended Black Mountain College in North Carolina as a teenager and has been painting for the last six decades. He began to write in the1980s and is now actively practicing both arts. His most recent books are Learning to Draw/A History (Skylight Press, 2011), and The Spoken Word/The Painted Hand (Marsh Hawk Press, 2014). In November 2014 he narrated Black Mountain Songs as part the BAM Next Wave Festival.

Basil King: Mirage will screen every half-hour in the Walker Art Center Lecture Room from 5-9 pm on April 9th as part of Rain Taxi’s 20th Anniversary Bash at the Walker; King and Nicole Peyrafitte will appear in person for a book signing from 5:30- 6 pm.
