Join us each month leading up to the 2016 election, from March through October, the Walker is teaming up with Full Frame Documentary Film Festival for free documentary screenings and conversations about some of the most important topics of our time.

May: Trapped —a Sundance award-winning documentary by Dawn Porter that chronicles the fight for American women’s reproductive rights. .

All films screen in the Walker Cinema on the third Thursday of each month (except in June). #cinemaofurgency

A discussion between Michael R. Drysdale of Dorsey & Whitney and Angelica Perez of Whole Woman’s Health’s EmpowerLine follows the screening.

About Trapped

Focusing on front line clinics subject to TRAP laws (Targeted Regulation of Abortion Providers), which limit access to abortion, director Dawn Porter masterfully exposes real-world ramifications of this ideological battle. 2016, DCP, 90 minutes.

About the Speakers

Michael R. Drysdale is Of Counsel at the law firm of Dorsey & Whitney in Minneapolis, where he practices environmental and regulatory law. Drysdale has represented Planned Parenthood of Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota on a pro bono basis in litigation against the State of South Dakota regarding abortion rights since 2005. He is also on the boards of directors for Planned Parenthood and the Planned Parenthood Action Fund.

Angelica Perez, a Minnesota transplant hailing from Texas, manages Whole Woman’s Health’s EmpowerLine, the national resource line for Whole Woman’s Health. Perez is also an organizer with Trust Project Minnesota, a reproductive justice collective for women of color. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in advocacy and political leadership from Metropolitan State University.
