About this Session:

Many diverse experiences can lead to psychological trauma, including: war, rape, abuse and neglect. As yoga instructors, we have the potential to help others heal from trauma.

During this session led by Sarah Super (the only certified trauma-sensitive yoga instructor in MN), you'll learn how trauma can affect the mind-body connection as well as trauma-sensitive qualities and techniques so that you may create space for those who have undergone trauma and better serve your students.

About the Presenter:

Sarah Super is the only certified trauma-sensitive yoga instructor in Minnesota and one of 34 worldwide. Her certification comes from The Trauma Center in Brookline, Massachusetts, where she has continued to work directly with Dave Emerson, Director of Yoga Services. In 2009, Sarah completed her 200-hour Power Yoga Teacher Training through CorePower and taught beginning and intermediate level vinyasa classes, as well as yoga sculpt, at CorePower from 2009-2014. She currently teaches trauma-sensitive yoga at a crisis home in St. Paul and works as a learning & development consultant full-time for Hennepin County.

This workshop does not quality you to be a certified trauma-sensitive yoga instructor. It will however, help you learn the key ideas and tactics that can help make yoga more inclusive to students who have experience trauma.
