J Carver Steinhäger Style Gin Release Party says
A new gin is born! Or rather, a new, local version of a very old gin is born. Steinhäger is a unique gin from Germany, with origins to the 17th Century or earlier. A clean, crisp, slightly sweet, smooth gin, Steinhäger is traditionally made with only local red winter wheat and juniper from the Teutoburg Forest (yes, the same place that Hermann the German defeated the Romans). There are only two remaining distilleries in Steinhagen and neither is exporting their gin anymore.
The Black Forest Inn has served Steinhäger for many years, and in 2014 it was no longer available from the importer.
J Carver Distillery and their Spirits of Discovery have several well-loved gins already in production and they were immediately interested in the possibility of a new and very different gin.
The rest is history! We couldn’t be prouder of the fruits of this partnership: a gin as true to the original in spirit (no pun intended) and in taste. Served at the Black Forest Inn and sold to the public at select liquor stores, J Carver Steinhäger-style Gin is a treat for gin lovers, for German schnapps aficionados, and for fine spirit sippers everywhere.
Join us for a party to celebrate this release at the Black Forest Inn. Try a sample, talk to the distillers, order a mixed drink made with one of the new gins, win prizes, and party like you’re in the Teutoburg Forest.
