The Local Music Scene says
Jake Jones is a four piece alt-country band based out of Minneapolis, MN. Drawing inspiration from Tom Petty, Willie Nelson, and Sturgill Simpson, the band makes music that the group brings a mix of high-energy original and cover songs to venues throughout the Midwest and beyond. From Time to Time, the band’s first full-length album is out now!

Every month, a local musician is interviewed and performs their original music. Having listened closely, the comedians from local improv group The Local Music Scene then take the words and themes brought up through the songs and interview and use them as the inspiration for improvised scenes.

The Local Music Scene is: Sarah Arnold, Liz Council, Luke Gonnella, Jeff Gyllen, Mary Kane, Emily Lindholm, Erik Nielsen, Will Roberts, and Philip Simondet. They are an improv group that has trained and performed at various local improv theater, including The Brave New Workshop Comedy Theatre, CSz Twin Cities - Home of ComedySportz, HUGE Theater, and Jesters Comedy Improv.

All of them either ARE local musicians or enjoy local music. At the VERY least, they’ve heard the term "local music.”
