The Local Music Scene says
Kate Simons, Minneapolis native, plays guitar, singing a range of tunes from original to familiar. A gypsy by nature, Kate's eclectic music is influenced by her experiences all over the country. Folksy, heartfelt, and evocative her music connects her listeners to the elemental wonders of life as it happens.

Every month, a different local musician is interviewed and performs their original music. Having listened closely, the comedians from the local improv group The Local Music Scene then take the words and themes brought up through the songs and interview and use them as the basis and inspiration for their improvised scenes.

The Local Music Scene is: Sarah Arnold, Liz Council, Luke Gonnella, Jeff Gyllen, Mary Kane, Emily Lindholm, Erik Nielsen, Will Roberts, and Philip Simondet. They are an improv group that has trained and performed at various local improv theater, including The Brave New Workshop Student Union, CSz Twin Cities - Home of ComedySportz, HUGE Theater, and Jesters Comedy Improv.
All of them either ARE local musicians or enjoy local music. At the VERY least, they’ve heard the term "local music.”
