Lms Presents: Mama Caught Fire says
Mama Caught Fire is an all-female trio whose music explores harmonic intricacy, lyrical emotion, and the power of voice. Band members Abigail Tuominen, Molly Sowash, and Julia Hobart met as students at Macalester College through an a cappella group. In 2013, the three discovered their mutual adoration of folk and blues music and began creating and recording original music. The band performs in coffee shops, bars, and small venues around the Twin Cities.

Every month, a different local musician is interviewed and performs their original music. Having listened closely, the comedians from the local improv group The Local Music Scene then take the words and themes brought up through the songs and interview and use them as the basis and inspiration for their improvised scenes.

The Local Music Scene is: Sarah Arnold, Liz Council, Luke Gonnella, Jeff Gyllen, Mary Kane, Emily Lindholm, Erik Nielsen, Will Roberts, and Philip Simondet. They are an improv group that has trained and performed at various local improv theater, including The Brave New Workshop Student Union, CSz Twin Cities - Home of ComedySportz, HUGE Theater, and Jesters Comedy Improv.
All of them either ARE local musicians or enjoy local music. At the VERY least, they’ve heard the term "local music.”
