Minnesota Young Workers says
On Wednesday, the 1st of April, at the Varsity Theater in Minneapolis, MPR and the Citizens' League are co-hosting "May the Workforce be with you," an episode within their recurring Policy and a Pint series.

Policy and a Pint programs are co-hosted by MPR and the Citizens' League as "conversations that engage people in important conversations about public policy in Minnesota." Next Wednesday's program is a conversation around 21st century workforce development, with an unfortunate, singular focus on business' angle. Obviously, workforce development encompasses sectors outside of business -[duh] like Labor, Education and Public Policy.

The singular focus of this program is not representative of other voices in a conversation about workforce development. For this, the Minnesota Young Workers are mobilizing union and community members to attend this program, begging questions like "why isn't Labor involved in this conversation? what about schools and apprenticeship programs, shouldn't they be involved? at this policy and a pint, why is business the only character in the discussion?"

The icing on top of the cake, is that the Varsity Theater where this program is happening recently organized. [Congratulations!] Joining IATSE local 13. So, in this action we are clearly showing up for a number of reasons :D
I've reached out to IATSE in order to tell them that we plan to do this action.

So the plan
First, say here or via email, if it is looking like you want to attend. We will try to hold seats for folks to sit together.
Second, purchase a $10 ticket to attend, $5 for students. These programs sell out often, so purchase now.
Then, show up wearing union, group, school and Minnesota Young Workers' garb. So stylish.
Last is to attend at the Varsity Theatre, address below.
