The event creator says

Pearls Over Shanghai is a gender bender mock comic-opera that drags us into the underbelly of Shanghai circa 1937. It is a mash up of The Mikado, Ziggy Stardust, Busby Berkeley, The Rocky Horror Show, every outdated, bad Oriental exotica movie ever made, and a little bit of John Waters. Pearls Over Shanghai, San Francisco's 1970's most unlikely hit musical features a score of 24 exquisite numbers with music by Richard (Scrumbly) Koldewyn and lyrics by Link Martin. It is a show so hip and crazy that Rex Reed, Truman Capote, Angela Lansbury and even Andy Warhol went to see it when it played in NYC 1970. Open your eyes to a new, yet old form of outrageous theatre! You will not forget it !!

Note: due to the burlesque quality of the show, it is 18+
