Register To Walk With Your Dog In The Pride Parade says
Dogs know better than anyone that love is love is love, which is why the Sidewalk Dog pack is so proud to be walking in this year’s 2015 Ashley Rukes GLBT Pride Parade. And because we’re all about community, we want you and your dogs to walk with us! (Our dogs will be there too, of course; Ellie’s been practicing her strut.)

Bonus? We’ll be walking near the beginning of the parade to help preserve the dogs’ safety and sanity, so it promises to be a fantastic time for all involved!

1) Dogs who walk with the Sidewalk Dog pack must be leashed on standard six-footers; no retractable leashes or free-range dogs, please.

2) You must register to walk beforehand by signing up on EventBrite, as spaces are limited.

3) Each individual human walker may walk no more than two dogs.

4) Each dog may be walked by no more than two people. We’re Sidewalk DOG, after all, so we need to keep the ratio of humans to canines under control. :)

5) And of course, know thy dog. If this doesn’t seem like an event your dog will actually enjoy or be capable of doing (the parade route is .8 miles long), please don’t sign him up. Just come cheer us on from along the side of the route!

Registration is $25 per person and $10 per dog. Each registrant gets either a free t-shirt (for humans) or bandana (for dogs) to wear in the parade. [See the ticket link for t-shirt photos, colors, and styles.]

You'll choose the color and the saying for your t-shirt and your pup’s bandana when you register, and a portion of each registration fee will go directly to TC Pride.

You'll pick up your shirt the day before the parade (on Saturday, June 27) at a Minneapolis location yet to be determined.

Q. How will my dog stay hydrated?
A. We're bringing along plenty of water for the dogs, both for drinking and for pouring on bodies, which will be available throughout the route. Plus, we're walking near the front of the parade, so we'll be able to minimize the amount of time the dogs need to be outside.

Q. Can I push my dog in a doggie stroller?
A. Absolutely!
