Minnehaha Mile Shopping District says
Just like so many of our vintage treasures, older dogs bring a host of positive characteristics not typically found in those bouncy, shoe-chewing pups -- and yet when it comes to taking in rescue dogs, seniors are often overlooked out of fear for expense.

There are so many positive reasons to take in an older dog, and we want you to have the opportunity to learn more -- and meet some of these lovely creatures!

The shops have partnered with a number of local rescue organizations, and invite you to come give - and get - some four-pawed affection on Saturday, July 18.

Sponsored in part by Lavender Magazine, this event will be a meander along Minnehaha Avenue. Check out this story in their most recent issue: http://www.lavendermagazine.com/our-affairs/ruff-days-be-gone-adopting-senior-dogs/

Participating shops and their rescue organizations are as follow:

Junket: Tossed & Found 4049 Minnehaha Ave - Safe Hands Rescue
The Natural Built Home Store4020 Minnehaha - Secondhand Hounds
Time Bomb Vintage 4008 Minnehaha - Luv A Chin
E's Emporium - 3911 Minnehaha Ave - Saveabull Rescue
Paris Antiques - TBA
Turquoise Vintage 3456 Minnehaha Ave - Underdog Rescue, MN
Plum Crabby Vintage 3263 Minnehaha Ave - Peke N Chin Midwest

The event will be followed by an optional Lavender Magazine-sponsored happy hour at Du Nord Craft Spirits (1 block from Plum Crabby Vintage on 32nd St E).
