Story Club Minneapolis says
Story Club returns LIKE A LION this March. Come tell good or old or bad or new stories from your life! We have open-mic slots for YOU!

As always, we'll be at the Bryant Lake Bowl & Theater, where you can eat and drink to your heart's content. In fact, you're encouraged to do so.

Doors open at 6pm. Show starts at 7pm.

Open mic performers are chosen in the traditional way: by mortal combat... *cough*... By raffle.

Open mic slots are 8 minutes (about 1200 words). Three open mic participants will get a chance to share an original, first person story (but if you manage to pull off fourth-person, one of the producers will by you a drink).

Open mic sign-ups start at 6pm and will be near the entrance.

Each month we feature 2-3 local storytellers in addition to our usual 3 open mic slots.

For our March show, we are delighted to feature:

Performance artist Muna Mohamed

Writer Ellen Burkhard

Entrance to Story Club is on a sliding scale $6-$12.

More about our Features:

Mohamed uses comedy to deal with the opposite worlds of being Somali and American. Her mother thinks she's lost her mind and wonders how comedy will get her into heaven or, more importantly, a husband. When she's not doing comedy, she dabbles in poetry, improv and she is a self-proclaimed "perpetual student of the arts."

Burkhardt is a Minneapolis-based writer, over-thinker and professional eavesdropper. Her most recent essay for Salon broke all the rules for an INTJ. She's still recovering.
