Story Arts of Minnesota says
Story Arts of Minnesota is proud to announce StoryFest 2015, to be held on April 18th, 2015 at the City of Lakes Waldorf School (for daytime programming, 2344 Nicollet Ave) and The Black Forest Inn (for the evening concert, 1 East 26th St).

StoryFest brings together the Twin Cities' best storytellers together in one all day mega-event. From Moth-style true stories to traditional tales from around the world, from bone-chilling ghost stories to bawdy recollections of naughty misadventure, StoryFest is a tour through the many aspects of the original art form: storytelling.

Performance and craft workshops for beginning and intermediate storytellers kick the day off at 10am on an educational note.

Then come six sessions of themed storytelling showcases for adults (from 1:00pm to 4:30pm) with titles like Stranger than Fiction: Bizarre True Tales and Scum and Villainy: Stories from the Bad Guy’s Perspective that spotlight power hitters of the local scene.

This year StoryFest will also feature a third room dedicated to programming for families. A concert for families with children ages 4+ will emphasize stories with audience participation that will get kids moving. Later in the day, there’ll be a showcase of stories from around the world for families with children ages 7+, and there’ll even be a workshop for children ages 8+ that’ll teach them how to tell their own tales.

After a break for dinner, StoryFest reconvenes at the Black Forest Inn at 7:30pm for the evening concert, presented in partnership with Cheap Theatre and curated and hosted by Erica Christ. The concert will feature a diversity of stories on the subject “The Last Word” from Twin Cities storytelling veterans.
