The Fed Soc Mn Summer Happy Hour With David Lat says
It's time once again for one of our favorite FedSocMN traditions, the Summer Happy Hour! You've made this a wonderful opportunity to mix and mingle with Federalists of all stripes, including judges, practitioners, professors, law students, and long-time community partners.

This year, we're pleased to be joined by special guest David Lat, the founder and managing editor of Above the Law. Prior to starting his media career, Mr. Lat served as a federal prosecutor in New Jersey, a litigation associate in New York, and a law clerk to Judge Diarmuid F. O'Scannlain of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Mr. Lat will share with us his special remarks regarding the evolution and significance of U.S. Supreme Court clerkships. He will discuss the history of clerkships at the Court, the role of law clerks, how people land such clerkships, and what they tend to do after their time with the Court.

So join us beginning at 5 p.m. on Monday, June 26, at Kieran's Irish Pub (85 N. 6th St.) in downtown Minneapolis for an evening of conversation with Mr. Lat and fellow Federalists. Look for us in our usual haunts, the Poet's Corner room.

Tickets, which can be purchased through our Eventbrite page, are $10 for dues-paying members of the Federalist Society, $15 for non-members. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at

We hope you can join us for another fabulously Federalist start to summer!
