The Need For Roots: Rooted In Compassion

For our final Sunday in our "The Need for Roots" series, we are going to dig deep into our commitment to compassion by having a conversation around how our interconnectedness - to eachother, to all living things, to the earth - can root us in living simple, compassionate, and environmentally conscious driven lives.

We are all intertwined. The health and wholeness of one is tied to the health and wholeness of another. If all of life is interconnected, then how we live life matters. Our choices impact other life. As a community, we want to come alongside each other to support one another in developing habits and behaviors that create love, healing, justice, and joy in the world.

We want to resist that way of being human that seems bent on determining how we are separate, different from, even more valuable or important than other life (including other human lives). We want to live differently than "out of sight, out of mind" that fuels the fires of environmental degradation and racism. We want to commit our lives to living compassionately, and we want to discover simplicity in the process.

But how can we do this you may ask? Through our #powerintogether. And maybe, there is value in re-discovering the wisdom of ancient traditions that claims this very same interconnected reality.

So! Join us Sunday morning for a conversation, some music, and some community. We'll hear from Mike Rusert about two ways of viewing the world, one that separates and one that connects, and we’ll chat with Intertwiners who’ve participated in our Sabbath experiment (exploring how to rest amidst an over-connected and productivity-obsessed society) and our More than Money Matters workshop (freeing people up from the anxiety that comes with money and supporting one another in aligning spending with values), two efforts of our community to practice simplicity and compassion.

As always, there will be free, delicious Tiny Footprint Coffee, some breakfast snacks, and lots of community. :-)
