Celebrating the life and legacy of the late great J Dilla a.k.a. James Dewitt Yancy with Ma Dukes (J Dilla's Mother) and family, officially endorsed by the James Dewitt Yancey Foundation!

March 4th, 2016, is our first night of the official Twin Cities Dilla Weekend, brought to you by the TC Loves Dilla (Twin Cities Dilla Day Committee), with feature special guest performers:

Chadwick "Niles" Phillips is a renaissance man within the world of the arts. He graduated from Michigan State University in 2006. Upon moving to NYC, he won the "Who's Next"/HOT 97 Talent Search in 2006 which enabled him to release a single on Major Label/Koch Records. He also has worked in film for BET, CBS, MTV and NYC Fashion week. He was the host of the legendary "Poet's Groove" open mic in Minneapolis for 2 and a half years. He is the founder of the curriculum "Hip-Hop, History and The Arts" that he teaches at schools all around the Twin Cities. He also is the Founder/CEO of The Avant Garde, LLC which is a music, arts & entertainment production company geared towards providing a platform for highly seasoned artists of all avenues throughout the Twin Cities metropolis. He is working on his debut album entitled "To Remain" which will be released the summer of 2016.(

The event feature an epic "Beat Wars" Beat/Producer Battle from some of the Twin Cities hottest producers and beatmakers, hosted by Swift of Phull Surkle (formarly known as Gene Poole).
