Whether you are a racer, endurance or commuter cyclist, you spend a lot of time hunched forward over your handlebars powering the legs in a repetitive motion, with a rounded back and forward head posture. This repeated posture can lead to short and tight hamstrings, hip flexors and quadriceps, and also cause lower back pain and neck pain.

As a cyclist, you experience numerous tight muscles, which lead to imbalances in the body and increase the risk of injury. Yoga asana is the perfect compliment to cycling. It creates body awareness, suppleness in the tissues and flexibility so that your body is able to adapt to the increased activity and miles as you transition into better riding weather and new training rides. Yoga can also help you recover more quickly.

In this workshop, you will be given yoga postures and breathing exercises that you can use before and after a ride to help prepare the body and mind for a ride.

-- Safely loosen up areas that cycling tends to tighten, such as legs, hips, shoulder, back and neck
-- Experience how yoga can help rejuvenate and relax your body and mind
-- Learn new tools to keep your body happy and healthy before and after riding

Open to all levels of experience, all degrees of stiffness, for the serious or fair-weather cyclists.

Everyone is welcome.
