Let the games begin.

The 2026 Milano-Cortina Olympic Games officially kick off today with the opening ceremonies and lighting of the Olympic cauldrons.

Canada’s flag-bearers are ski-cross racer Marielle Thompson and moguls skier Mikaël Kingsbury, both veteran Olympians competing in their fourth Winter Games.

What time is the Olympics opening ceremony?

The main ceremony begins at 2 p.m. ET (11 a.m. PT, 8 p.m. local time) in Milan’s San Siro stadium.

Simultaneous ceremonies will also be occurring in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Livigno, and Predazzo, with cameras switching between venues during the athletes’ parade.

Mariah Carey and Andrea Bocelli set to perform during the 2.5-hour celebration.

Figure skating kicks off today in Milan with Day 1 of the team event.
