The Farmers’ Almanac winter 2025-2026 extended weather forecast for Canada is in, and is promising a return to traditional winter weather patterns—epic storms, deep freezes and frequent snowfall included.

It’s almost impossible to imagine bundling up in the midst of Quebec’s record-breaking heat wave, but here we are.

In Quebec, especially in the northern regions and Labrador, expect Arctic air masses to take hold during January and February. These areas will experience dangerous wind chills and extended periods of deep freeze.

And while occasional thaws may bring brief relief to Southern Quebec, sharp cold snaps will continue to make their presence felt throughout the season.

When it comes to Canada’s snowiest regions, Quebec should expect multiple  nor’easters  and blizzards, especially in late January and February.

Is this winter going to be cold in Québec?

In late December 2025, unsettled weather will affect much of the country, and Quebec can expect snow and sleet.

January 2026 will be a stormy and frigid month, bringing nor’easters and Arctic blasts of harsh cold.

February 2026 marks the heart of winter with widespread snowstorms and deep freezes, where Quebec will face heavy snow and prolonged cold.

March 2026, through the 20th, will be a transitional month when cold air will linger in northern and eastern Quebec.
