The Montreal Festival du nouveau cinéma is pulling out all the stops this year.

Quebec’s biggest general-interest film festival—celebrating a whopping 291 films made by established filmmakers and emerging artists from all over the world—is kicking off this October.

The FNC is also bringing back parties at the Agora du Coeur des Sciences de l’UQAM (the FNC's general headquarters) like the Soirées de la Louve—free events related to this year’s film lineup with guest filmmakers in attendance.

The festival opens with Falcon Lake, Charlotte Le Bon’s feature début, which will screen at the Cinéma Impérial and close with Les Cinq Diables (The Five Devils) by Léa Mysius (winner of the 2017 Louve d’or for Ava), which showed at the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight in May.
