2015 Industry Panels: “Fashion Meets Technology: The Future Of The Industry, Manufacturing And Retail says
The 2015 Industry Panels will discuss how technology is changing the way fashion is produced and consumed with three panels that give an inside look into brands and businesses that are creating with these new approaches to the industry.

Each panel will feature a moderated discussion and presentation followed by an audience-driven Q&A session. Panelists and moderators scheduled to appear include Fern Mallis, Karen Elson and Timo Weiland. Fashion trucks, The Trunk Nashville and Sisters of Nature Mobile Boutique will be on location and will showcase merchandise from several local NFW designers. Ten percent of sales will benefit the Nashville Fashion Forward Fund of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.

Doors open at 9 a.m. Registration for the panels can be made through www.nashvillefashionweek.com. Tickets are $20 per person and include access to all three panels. City Winery will be serving their brunch menu throughout the event.

The Future of the Industry: The Importance of the Nashville Forward Fund and Industry development Outside the Major Cities of LA and NY
10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Discussion of the foundational element of why fashion is a significant industry to the shaping of a city and why the Nashville Fashion Forward Fund is a vital part of that initiative.Panelists: Fern Mallis, creator of New York Fashion Week, host of Fashion Insiders with Fern Mallis on Sirius XM Stars; Karen Elson, supermodel and songstress; and Timo Weiland, Vanderbilt graduate and ready-to-wear runway showcase designer.

The Future of Manufacturing: The New Standard and Approach to Producing a Quality Product
12:45 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.
From 3D printing to “Made in the USA” production, technology is changing the manufacturing process in fashion and what that ultimately means for the designer and the consumer.Panelists: Amanda Valentine, founder of high end women’s brand VALENTINE VALENTINE; Ashley Parkes, CEO of Aloncii; Maxine Bédat, Co-Founder of Zady.com; and Lisa Struble, Vice President, Apparel Development & Quality at Under Armour.

The Future of Retail: Connecting the Digital World with the Physical Experience
2 p.m. – 3 p.m.
A glimpse at how technology is changing the shopping experience by connecting our digital devices to our physical environment.Panelists: Carolann Larkin, Global Program Manager, eCommerce, Urban Outfitters; Leigh Fogle, Founder/CBDO, BKON; Sarin Kuruvilla, Co-Founder of Taggist; and Neil Kohler, Co-Founder of MakerWear.
