Aislinn Kerchaert says
Meet the 10¢ Whore, a mystical floozy from a 1920's concert salon, who discovers she was an ancient priestess in a past life. By conventional standards, she’s a whore. By exceptional standards, she’s a self-governing woman on the quest for love. With rank Vaudevillian humor, and a dose of ancient mythology, 10¢ Whore takes us through the “in’s and out's” of this modern misconstruction.

10¢ Whore is a one-woman show written and performed by Chicago based artist Aislinn Kerchaert. It explores the paradoxes and limitations society places on women's perceptions of sexuality, and invites the audience to help redefine these beliefs. Join us in this celebration of womanhood, and reawakening the goddess within!

About Aislinn:

Aislinn Kerchaert is an Actor, Writer, and Solo Performance Artist based in Chicago, IL. She decided to become an actor after her very first role as "child-turned-bowl of porridge" in her Kindergarten adaptation of Heckedy Peg, and an artist when she read that magical scene in A Little Princess. You know the one. Where Sara Crewe and Becky feast off the fruits of their imagination. Either way, Aislinn was resolved to do just that. Several productions, inductions and graduations later, she received her B.F.A in Acting from DePaul University,'12. Aislinn has devised several experimental works that explore sexuality, goddess culture, and female relationships. Her writing has been performed at The Del Close Theatre at iO, The Curio Show at the Den Theatre, Salonathon, Foundry, and more. She co-devised La Lune de Femme with Winnifred Coombe, The Good Night Ladies and trans*queer performance group Witch Hazel, which they took on tour to the New Orleans Fringe Festival last November.
