Please join us for a free preview screening! THE HOMESTRETCH by Anne de Mare and Kirsten Kelly

The Homestretch follows three homeless teens as they fight to stay in school, graduate, and build a future. Each of these smart, ambitious youths — Roque, Kasey, and Anthony — will surprise, inspire, and challenge audiences to rethink stereotypes of homelessness as they work to complete their education while facing the trauma of being alone and abandoned at an early age. While told through a personal perspective, their stories connect with larger issues of poverty, race, juvenile justice, immigration, foster care, and LGBTQ rights. (2015)

A panel discussion will follow the film. Come meet community leaders working to create a better tomorrow. Guest panelists include Clarence White, MSW, a social Worker at Unity House and Joshua Beverly, senior program coordinator at Tulane Drop-In Center at N. Claiborne.

For more information or to RSVP contact Drena Clay at 504-569-9070, and please visit http://itvs.org/films/homestretch.

Presented by Ashé Cultural Arts Center in collaboration with Charitable Film Network, ITVS, New Orleans Film Society and WYES.
