Gulf South Rising says
Join us at Lafayette Square for a march to the Amphitheater across from Jackson Square to commemorate 5 years since the BP oil spill.

Dress in all black to show mourning and to resemble an oil spill as we send the message to BP that the oil is still here, and so are we. We will have props to carry that look as if they have been dipped in oil.

Bring any percussive instruments you have - drums, pots and pans - anything that makes noise! We want to be noticed as we march through the French Quarter. Bring banners and signs if you have any as well.

March route: Start at Lafayette Square --> St. Charles --> Poydras --> S. Peters --> cross Canal --> Chartres --> Jackson Square --> Amphitheater near Cafe Du Monde at 5:45pm for a gathering with speakers.

As BP continues their business as usual, we will show that the seas are rising and so are we.
