Room 220 presents readings from Lauren Levin and Elizabeth Gross at 5 p.m. on Sunday, January 1, at Antenna Gallery (3718 St. Claude Ave.). Levin will read from her first full-length poetry collection, The Braid. We will have black-eyed peas, greens, and pineapple upside down cake to commemorate the end of 2016 and celebrate the beginning of a new year.

Lauren Levin grew up in New Orleans and lives in Richmond, CA, with her family. Her first full-length book The Braid was published by Krupskaya Books in October 2016. Recent work can be found in the chapbook Only the Dead Are Never Anxious (Mondo Bummer), in the journal Open House, and forthcoming in the journal Hold.

Elizabeth Gross is a poet/translator/teacher/baker in New Orleans. Her chapbook Dear Escape Artist was recently published by Antenna/Room 220. More poems have recently appeared in Okey-Panky, White Stag, TENDERLOIN, and Fairy Tale Review.
