Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans & Acadiana says
Second Harvest Food Bank's 6th Annual Rubber Duck Derby, presented by Capital One Bank, has a new date and a new home for 2015 – Sunday, May 31st at Big Lake in City Park. The event is FREE & open to the public to come watch the ducks race in Big Lake.

Duck adoptions are officially underway for the upcoming event, and as part of its sponsorship Capital One Bank is taking the lead by kicking-off duck adoptions in select Jefferson and Orleans Parish branches from April 21 – May 2. You can also adopt your ducks at www.no-hunger.org.

Get your lucky ducks for $5 each, $25 for a “quack pack” (6) or a “flock of ducks” for $100 for a chance to win prizes. For each adopted duck, Second Harvest can provide an additional 15 meals for a child in need in South Louisiana.

Each “adopted” duck is assigned a unique race number and entered into the Rubber Duck Derby. You can adopt and name your duck(s) on our website and print out your adoption papers.

Rubber ducks can also be adopted at the following events (others will be announced on our website as confirmed):
• Capital One Bank, all New Orleans branches, from April 21 – May 2

Last year, the race sold out at 20,000 adopted rubber ducks. This year, 25,000 rubber ducks will be available for adoption and dropped into the Big Lake on race day. Winners will be identified by the ducks’ unique race numbers and will be announced at the conclusion of the race (winners need not be present to win).

This year, thanks to our generous sponsors, we have additional prizes for more chances to win. Prizes include:
1st Place: $5,000
2nd Place: $1,000 Rouses gift card
3rd Place: Two round-trip airfares from Southwest Airlines
4th Place: Two night stay at Loews New Orleans Hotel & dinner at Café Adelaide
5th Place: One year of Raising Cane’s (1 “Box” meal per week for a year)
6th Place: One Year of PJ’s Coffee
7th Place: Suite at Zephyrs Game
8th Place: $250 gift certificate to Massey’s Professional Outfitters
9th Place: Bike from Bicycle World
10th Place: Round of Golf at Chateau Country Club

Special thanks to our event sponsors Capital One Bank, Lexus of New Orleans, Macy’s, WDSU, Raising Cane’s, Iconic and Rotary Club of New Orleans.

Proceeds from the Rubber Duck Derby help Second Harvest Food Bank provide meals for families in need throughout South Louisiana. One in six households in Louisiana are at risk of hunger.
