Please join us for Silent Souls: Katrina's Animals, an exhibition of images captured by Washington Post photojournalist Carol Guzy, a four time Pulitzer Prize Winner. The works shown will depict New Orleans' stranded and injured animals and the disaster responders' rescue efforts to save, heal and reunite the animal victims with their human companions who fought to travel back to look for them.

The opening reception will coincide with Hurricane Katrina's 10th anniversary and art sales proceeds will benefit Humane Society of Louisiana's N.O. Place Like Home campaign to help bring their No-Kill shelter back to New Orleans.

The event seeks to celebrate the exhausting labors and sacrifices made by disaster responders and local animal rescuers alike and to help foster continued recovery and development of one of Louisiana's effective animal protection and rescue agencies. The artist will be present. Works will be on view through the month of September.
