UN-CLUTTER YOUR MIND & FREE YOUR BREATH. Thomas Q. Sims, mentor for Swan River Teacher Training and certified Jivamukti Yoga instructor, will guide you in various pranayama and meditation exercises, including techniques from the Hatha Yoga Pradipika. This is an invitation to explore some of the quieter realms of the yoga practice. Pranayama, the practice of regulated breathing, is a natural partner to meditation. Together, these practices can free the mind of chatter and attachments, returning the mind to it’s natural state of peace and tranquility. With consistent practice, the mind becomes clear and equanimous even in a world which can seem busy and even chaotic at times. Thomas will lead an exploration of these practices, offering various forms of pranayama and meditation, to help you find the methods that work for you. Join Thomas in our sacred 3rd floor space for this special series of cultivating Shanti (peace). We will be sitting on the floor (or chairs if necessary) for the majority of the time in these sessions. Some props will be provided, but students may bring their own meditation cushions or blankets. All levels welcome. No experience necessary.
