Come with us on a musical and old New Orleans journey through the interpretations of classic 70's songs re-envisioned by New Orleans local Steinway artist Matt Lemmler and his NOLAJazzRevival. As a product of a New Orleans musical family and sacred culture, Lemmler has created special tributes to his hometown of New Orleans, as well as musical tributes to the great Marvin Hamlisch, the late Robin Williams and classic TV and movie themes including JAWS, The Godfather, The Sting, M.A.S.H., Theme from Taxi, All in the Family, The Jeffersons, Mister Rogers' Neighborhood, Sesame Street, Three's Company, Laverne and Shirley, and many popular 70's tunes from Billy Joel, Randy Newman, Burt Bacharach, The Carpenters, Lionel Richie, The Commodores and many more.

Each 1970's Show is new and crafted with a movable cast of some of New Orleans' finest musicians which have included Lena Prima, Jason Marsalis, Stanton Moore, James Singleton, Mike Dillon, Chris Adkins, Simon Lott, Cindy Scott, Ashley Lemmler, Charlie Dennard, and Gavin Bell. Lemmler's creative arranging pen combined with musical skills and lessons he learned from some of New Orleans' master arrangers/bandleaders including Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton, Danny Barker, Louis Prima, Fats Domino, Ed Frank, Pete Fountain, Ellis and the Marsalis family, Charlie Brent, Harry Connick, Jr. and many others create a brand new sounding show, every month. A true melting pot of creative New Orleans musicians creating the gumbo known as Jazz, Rhythm and Blues, Soul, Gospel, Classical, Rock, Spiritual all in an entertaining and sacred place, Cafe Istanbul, inside the New Orleans Healing Center. For all the old New Orleanians, that's the old Universal Furniture Store on St. Claude Ave, across the street from St. Roch Market. It doesn't get any more New Orleans than being at our NOLAJazzRevival "The 1970's Show.
