Fellow Tulanians! My name is Ashley Craythorne, I’m a junior studying English and Sociology, and I am running for the position of a SLA Senator on the Undergraduate Student Government. I am so lucky to have been a part of this incredible Tulane community for the past three years and I am very excited for the possibility of being able represent you and create change on this campus. As a student I have been involved with multiple organizations on campus; I have served as Phi Sigma Pi Honor Fraternity’s Brother-at-Large, the public relations chair for Tulane University Ladies A Cappella, as well as a hotline worker for Tulane’s Sexual Aggression Peer Hotline and Education (SAPHE). My involvement in these university organizations, especially SAPHE, is what has significantly shaped my Tulane experience and exposed me to the issues on campus that I am profoundly passionate about. It is my hope to bring this passion to a student government setting, where institutional changes can be made on this campus—particularly regarding issues surrounding sexual assault on campus and the mental health of our students. I want to be your Senator in order to be able to play a larger role in the campus-wide movement to bring attention to these issues, amongst others, and be a part of the change that will create a stronger, healthier, more unified Tulane community. I invite anybody to contact me at if you have any questions and I hope you choose to vote for me! Sincerely, Ashley Craythorne
